Job Title: Market Abuse & Securities Operations Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for a Market Abuse & Securities Operations Specialist to join our first line of defense team. The role combines responsibilities in market abuse surveillance and back-office securities operations, ensuring the integrity of trading activities and the accuracy of post-trade processes.

Key responsibilities:

· Monitor trading activity and investigate alerts related to potential market abuse, including price manipulation and insider trading.

· Conduct first-level analysis of suspicious transactions, escalating cases as appropriate.

· Support daily back-office operations for securities, including trade matching, settlement, and reconciliation.

· Verify the accuracy and completeness of transactions across trading, clearing, and custody systems.

· Manage the timely resolution of operational breaks, discrepancies, or settlement fails.

· Collaborate with traders, compliance, risk, and IT to ensure smooth information flow and proper escalation of issues.

· Assist in the review and enhancement of surveillance parameters and operational procedures.

Technical Skills / Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.

· Good knowledge in trade surveillance, or securities back office within a financial institution or investment firm.

· Understanding financial instruments, trade lifecycle, and settlement processes (equities, bonds, derivatives).

· Knowledge of market abuse typologies (layering, spoofing, wash trades, insider trading) and related regulations.

· Familiarity with trade surveillance or back-office systems

· Strong command of Excel and data analysis tools.

· Good written and spoken English.

· Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

· High sense of responsibility and ethical standards.

· Effective communication and collaboration across teams.

· Problem-solving and proactive attitude.

· Adaptability in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
