Business Analyst in Financial Market

We are looking for you, if you:

  • you Possess a University (Master’s) degree in (Management) Accounting & Control, Business IT, Accountancy or (Business) economics – having an exceptional academic track record is a plus,
  • more than ten years experience within the financial industry with knowledge of Wholesale Banking product accounting concepts,
  • understanding and knowledge of banking processes,
  • knowledge of (complex) Financial Markets products,
  • knowledge of (product) Accounting concepts,
  • knowledge and experience in working with SQL,
  • knowledge and experience with making impact analyses and functional designs,
  • maintain, based on the product life cycle, the event based product accounting specifications for FM & GT products, like by example FX, MM, Swaps, Securities and Repo products,
  • define and maintain non product related ledger processes and services like by example Cost of Funding,
  • maintain documentation and process descriptions to clarify the working of functionality for end users, such as User Manuals and Quick Reference Cards,
  • strong analytical and problem solving skills,
  • good communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with your (international) stakeholders,
  • proactive attitude,
  • team player but also capable of working independently.

English level - C1

You'll get extra points for:

  • knowledge of Hedge Accounting concepts,
  • comfortable in an Agile way of working environment and able to quickly adopt AWOW techniques and tooling in your day-to-day activities,
  • knowledge of FMGT FrontOffice and BackOffice systems (like Murex, Summit, Sophis and Calypso),
  • knowledge and experience with creation of test plans and testcases and execution of Functional, Acceptance and Migration testing,
  • affinity with IT and innovation.

Your responsibilities:

  • translation of business requirements into Finance user requirements,
  • act as single point of contact in front-to-end initiatives,
  • coordinate and facilitate activities on squad/tribe and/or program level,
  • you support the product owner and the squad in managing the backlog by translating epics into features and, together with the squad, into user stories,
  • information/data analysis: you analyze the necessary input, output, and adjustment of data in the end user processes. You analyze the information need. You investigate the quality of captured data and come up with solutions to improve quality,
  • implement and maintain the controls related to minimum accounting standards,
  • supporting strategic initiatives to ensure they are delivered in a timely manner – e.g. by executing functional, acceptance and migration testing,
  • translate (solution) designs into IT solutions by closely working together with IT,
  • second line functional support; daily checking of EOD (timeliness, correctness, completeness of financial/product accounting, reporting, reconciliations, ledger).

Information about the squad:

As a change expert, you will be working in a constructive, multidisciplinary squad composed of business analysts, engineers and a product owner. Together, you work on FM & GT initiatives with the objective to onboard new portfolios to the central Finance environment and improve the current way of processing and reporting. 

The squad aims to bring together a deep understanding of the underlying banking business (e.g. Group Treasury, Financial Markets, and Transaction Services), capabilities to translate the business needs into accounting solutions, as well as the expertise to implement the solution design for the changes requested in the Finance systems. Together with your squad members you do everything within your power to realize your common mission day by day.

The role naming convention in the global ING job architecture will be “Change Expert IV”.
