Department Overview:

Within Financial Markets, the UK Corporate Sales desk is a multi-product client facing team covering the FM requirements of our diverse customer base. Principal markets are Interest Rates Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, Commodity, and Money Markets with support provided to our Equity Derivative colleagues. This is a public side role focused on delivering the financial markets hedging requirements of a large and varied corporate client base with UK, European, US & Asian multi-national names in the portfolio

Candidate Profile

Qualification/Education 

Essential:

  • Degree level education BSc/MSc degree or equivalent by preference


Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

  • Proficient in use of Bloomberg and Excel 
  • Deep knowledge of Interest Rate and FX markets with desire to replicate for Commodities is core for a successful application
  • Relevant hands-on experience with cited products and clients at a reputable peer bank/institution
  • Experience in interest rate derivatives is key with an ability to provide multi-currency hedging solutions both linear and non-linear including credit auction participation and trade bifurcation
  • FX derivative knowledge also critical for this position using both voice and electronic dealing streams together with FX Options solutions. The candidate will need to play an active role in marketing and execution of same
  • Strong understanding of price creation and validation for FX products
  • Fluent in English

Desirable:

  • Commodity derivatives knowledge and experience is a strong plus. 
  • Understanding and ability to support colleagues on the Financial Institutions sales desk with similar business but facing market professionals also desired
  • Interest in coding would be welcomed

Main Duties and Responsibilities of Role:

  • Take responsibility for day-to-day new client onboarding for the desk, working closely with the Front Office Support team to get all requirements in place in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ongoing monitoring to ensure all upcoming CDD/KYC/EMIR/MIFID/DF expiries and requirements are managed to prevent any down time in client dealing ability
  • Understanding of workflow and life cycle of corporate financial market transactions that are placed on the Bank’s derivatives book to actively manage new and existing exposures to expiry/completion
  • Develop significant experience with FX, Rates & Commodity risk monitoring tools using the bank systems to maintain all credit and settlement lines within approved parameters
  • Work closely with colleagues in Trading to ensure we optimise our capabilities and risk appetite
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion to get things done. A self-starter with demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Experience or familiarity with executing through bank single dealer platforms, and various multi-dealer platforms, Bloomberg, 360T, FXall
  • Outstanding ability to focus on core issues and attention to detail with swift execution in a fast-paced environment
  • Partner with Client Solutions Group and Research in distributing their content, publications and trade ideas
  • Conduct business in a manner consistent for a Certified Person and always to adhere to the principles of the FX Global Code
