Position:         Compliance Junior in Seoul Branch

Reporting to: Head of Compliance, ING Bank NV Seoul Branch

ROLE PROFILE

Overview

We are seeking an experienced compliance professional to join our team in Seoul. This role ensures that business areas operate in accordance with global and local compliance codes, internal policies, and applicable laws and regulations. You will lead and support key compliance functions, including Conduct Compliance & Culture, Integrated Compliance, and Compliance Quality Assurance (CQA).

Key Responsibilities

 Conduct Compliance & Culture

  • Manage risks related to unfair customer treatment, conflicts of interest, market conduct, anti-competition, organizational conduct, and data protection.
  • Drive initiatives to strengthen risk awareness and ethical culture.
  • Provide advisory services, training, and compliance oversight.
  • Lead complex investigations and ensure effective risk assessments.
  • Ensure accurate and timely local reporting and monitoring in line with regulatory and internal requirements.

Integrated Compliance

  • Deliver data-driven insights on compliance risks and reporting.
  • Implement global processes locally and ensure governance alignment.
  • Manage planning, budgeting, and functional steering activities.

Compliance Quality Assurance

  • Execute independent testing and QA reviews on compliance processes.
  • Develop and implement local monitoring plans and thematic reviews.
  • Provide consolidated reporting and support global QA initiatives

Person Specifications

(A) Competences

  • Strong knowledge of compliance frameworks, including conduct risk, data protection, anti-competition laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks through effective monitoring and reporting.
  • Skilled in leveraging data analytics for compliance insights and governance alignment.
  • Experienced in independent testing, thematic reviews, and continuous monitoring for quality assurance.
  • Proven leadership with excellent communication and advisory skills to engage stakeholders and drive compliance culture.

(B) Pre-requisites

  • University degree.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience is preferable
  • Highly analytical person with ability to recognize important information and identify risks
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver to a high standard under pressure and short deadlines
  • Ability to multitask and manage a high number of priorities
  • Good knowledge of MS office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in English and Korean, both verbal and written
