The team:

The Accounting Tribe works at the heart of the Bank’s complexity, with a view on the front-to-back processing chain of a large Dutch bank with an extensive international network. We translate complex, primarily global Wholesale Banking, business activities into financial records in line with the latest regulatory and tax requirements. Demand comes from three sources: (1) new or changed products/business lines, (2) regulators, central banks and/or tax authorities, and (3) process optimization requests from the end user community. We analyse the impact and design, test and implement a solution in the processing chain.

For this role, strong analytical & communication capabilities are crucial as well as an interest in accountancy, processes, tech and banking products. You will analyse the processes, assess the impact and ensure that the business- and user requirements are covered in change releases. You have a strong drive to learn about the accounting domain and the tools and techniques under your squad’s responsibility.  Within this position, you have either the possibility to develop yourself into a specialist in a certain domain or to develop to a generic profile with managerial responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

As a Business Analyst, you will be working in a constructive, multidisciplinary squad composed of business analysts, engineers and a product owner. Together, you work on a common purpose, implementing change in core systems covering accounting and finance functions in the bank.

Together with your squad members you do everything within your power to realise your common mission day by day. More specifically, this can contain one of the following activities:

  • Support the design, implementation, and transformation of core accounting ledger capabilities (General Ledger, Sub‑Ledger, Consolidation) within complex finance environments
  • Act as a functional finance expert bridging Accounting, Business, Technology, and Change stakeholders
  • Ensure accounting requirements are correctly translated into scalable, compliant, and auditable system solutions
  • Hands-on involvement in data migration, reconciliation, and validation between legacy and target ledgers.
  • Supporting strategic initiatives to ensure delivery in a timely manner – executing functional, acceptance and migration testing.

Key Capabilities/Experience & Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for an academic talent with a pragmatic mindset that can quickly learn the domain of the squad you will be working in. You get your energy from using your analytical skills to bring complete solutions for the requested change. To do so, effective communication skills are essential. You can convincingly make proposals and are a collaborator in reaching broad agreement on the path to follow.

You are an enthusiastic person that is not afraid to challenge the status quo. You translate external trends into practices for implementation within our Tribe.

  • University (Master’s) degree in (Management) Accounting & Control, Business IT, Accountancy or (Business) economics
  • Understanding and knowledge of the banking processes.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with your (international) stakeholders.
