Business Controller - Global Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention

Apply now

We’re hiring: Business Controller – Global Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention (Amsterdam HQ)

The Team:

This is a head office role at ING, part of the Global COO organisation. You’ll cover the entire bank’s operational finance business control activities for the Global Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention domain, directly linked to both the Global COO and the Group Finance of ING. You’ll be part of a tight team of 7 experienced finance professionals who advise at the very centre of the bank’s decision-making.

This is not accounting. Not project control. This is true Business Control / FP&A at the global level — where your analysis and advice directly influence strategy and performance for the whole bank.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the Management Team of the Global Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention, Group COO and CFO, and Group Finance.
  • Lead budgeting & forecasting, aligning and challenging senior stakeholders across all locations and Head Office.
  • Functionally manage and coach 1-2 team members supporting the domain business control processes
  • Translate complex financials into sharp, actionable insights.
  • Drive discussions on cost modelling, allocation, and efficiency.
  • Support strategic initiatives and transformation projects with financial expertise.

How to Succeed:

  • At least 5 years of proven experience in Business Control and/or FP&A. (If your background is only in accounting or project control, this role is not a fit.)
  • Strong communication and influencing skills — confident with senior stakeholders.
  • Able to navigate a large, complex, and often ambiguous global matrix organisation - proactive, resilient, and not thrown off by competing priorities.
  • Analytical, hands-on, and comfortable with challenging the status quo.
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint; Power BI, Hyperion, SmartView are a plus.

What we offer

  • A senior, high-impact role with visibility to the Global Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention senior leadership, Group COO and Group Finance
  • A place in a high-performing team of 7 finance professionals driving performance at group level.
  • Career opportunities within ING’s global finance community of hundreds of professionals in the Netherlands and abroad.
