The team
Procurement Netherlands is led by the Head of Procurement (HOP) and forms part of the Group Procurement organization. The function maximizes the value ING gets from suppliers and safeguards the integrity of our supply chain, operating efficiently and with sustainability at the heart of everything we do. Roles and responsibilities

The Vendor Manager is responsible for the execution of the Source-to-Contract processes, specifically the contract Life Cycle Management activities on a strategic level and must ensure that the process always runs seamlessly. Responsible for developing the vendor plans containing clear objectives, important (contractual) focus areas, development items to support value creation and continuous improvement. Ensure accomplishment of the defined objectives as included in the vendor plan, manages and monitors the vendor performance (commercially and third-party risk), monitors completion of contract obligations, negotiating contracts and disputes. Responsible to manage critical and strategic assigned contracts in close alignment with Business Contract Owner.

Your key responsibilities include:

Category Management

  • For assigned categories, identify business needs, category specifications and requirements as input for category plans.
  • Advise category manager with the development of category strategies, approaches and improvement areas.
  • Analysing of spend data, benchmark suppliers, track procurement performance and help to deliver value through insightful reporting and impactful work.

Sourcing Management

  • Identify business needs, category specifications and requirements as input for sourcing projects.
  • Responsible for developing the sourcing event and the management of the RFX process. Prepare sourcing documentation and train suppliers, design and issue the RFX and consolidate RFX responses.
  • Conduct contract negotiations with suppliers. Agree and document terms & conditions and finalize the approved contract.
  • Manage contract approvals and start onboarding process and content creation. Send the contract to the supplier and retrieve signatures from both parties. Provide input for the Back Office team with performing KYS checks and onboarding suppliers.
  • Support the Procurement Operations team with approving and reviewing vendor master data. Provide all information to operational tools during the supplier onboarding process and support contract management with supplier phase-out.
  • Provide input for the Leadership team with evaluating available supplier innovations and strategies. Function as a senior sourcing SME and possess deep category knowledge to execute complex sourcing initiatives for assigned categories.
  • Providing support to the category managers for business partnering activities, such as establishing stakeholder relationships, managing strategic initiatives, managing business innovations and assessing innovation opportunities.
  • Support category managers with identifying suppliers in scope during supplier segmentations. Support category management with proposal negotiations and selecting suppliers.
  • Drive contract and third-party risk compliance.

Project Management:

  • Execute complex sourcing initiatives and projects, communicate and advise senior stakeholders and manage global projects.

Strategic challenges:

  • Manage sourcing projects in the context of a multi-disciplinary stakeholder landscape consisting of business contract owner(s), multiple support functions, and Supplier by finding the optimal balance between value add, flexibility, and third-party risk management.

Work Experience

  • 3-6 years in procurement area, preferably at strategic level and preferably in an international financial services provider organisation.
  • Experience with purchasing on larger sourcing and contracting projects on Facility Management, included Real Estate and Workplace services.
  • Experience working with offshore teams.

Competencies

  • Master English business language/communication perfectly (spoken as well as written). Dutch language required for role.
  • Proven track record in delivering procurement value.
  • Strategic mindset: develop best in class sourcing strategies with involvement of business stakeholders.
  • Supplier and contract management experience
  • Experience and local NL market knowledge in the Indirect Category, Marcom, Facility, Travel and Car lease
  • Strong Project management and analytical skills.
  • Legal acumen
  • Influencing and conflict resolution skills.
  • Agile and self-driven
  • Drive sustainable procurement.
