Within Payments & Settlement Services (PSS) we are constantly looking for ways to improve our customer’s experience and create efficiencies in the processes.

We are looking for a PSS Business and Data Analyst – Cash and Intraday Liquidity Management, within the Expert Team Cash and Liquidity Management of PSS Operations. You will be involved in all PSS CLM change initiatives. With that you will have a big impact on the strategic ambitions of PSS and drive initiatives to automation and centralization of our operational processes.

Within Payment & Settlement Services (PSS) the CLM service is responsible for the management of the (intraday) liquidity of all ING Bank entities, including the development and maintenance of an operational cash and liquidity management model where the cash and liquidity positions are managed, determined and analyzed.

As a Business & Data Analyst for Cash and Intraday Liquidity Management, you play a key role in the evolution of ING’s ILM landscape. You focus on analysing cash and liquidity data, validating data quality, and transforming analytical outcomes into actionable business requirements. You investigate data at transaction and event level, detect anomalies or inconsistencies, and initiate improvements to strengthen ING’s intraday liquidity insights and reporting capabilities.

You work closely with colleagues in Group Treasury Front Office, Operations, Technology, ING HUBS (Manila and Romania), process experts, P&L owners, delivery tribes, and other stakeholders across the value chain. You ensure that CLM and ILM services are supported by clear, consistent, and well‑structured requirements that enable successful delivery in alignment with the functional roadmap.

You collaborate with:

  • Business representatives: Product (area) leadership, Customer Journey Experts, Operations, Risk, Group Treasury Front Office
  • IT Delivery organization: Chapter Leads, DevOps Engineers, IT Integrators
  • Architects: Enterprise, Domain, and Solution Architects

You are part of the COO organisation and report to the CLM Service Owner as a member of the CLM Expert Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed analysis of ILM‑related data (payment flows, RTGS events, cash movements, nostro statements) to identify patterns, anomalies, and root causes of data issues.
  • Develop a deep understanding of intraday liquidity metrics, including BCBS 248, and apply these insights across ILM and CLM processes.
  • Drive the implementation of real‑time dashboards, payment‑flow controls, cash‑flow forecasting, data‑quality checks, and reporting for cash and intraday liquidity usage.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional requirements, including logic definitions, data transformations, DQ rules, and validation criteria.
  • Ensure strong alignment with Treasury, Liquidity Management Experts, and Solution Architects throughout design and delivery.
  • Support IT delivery squads with clarifications, detailed data insights, and well‑defined acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in functional testing to validate that delivered solutions meet agreed business logic and data‑quality expectations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of ILM and CLM processes, with a focus on automation, resilience, and standardization.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and deeply curious about liquidity data and processes. You bring:

  • At least 5 years of working experience in intraday liquidity management or cash & liquidity management, preferably in a bank or financial institution.
  • Excellent data analysis skills is a must have, including ability to interpret complex datasets, track data logic end‑to‑end, and identify errors or gaps.
  • Proven ability to work with large datasets and to validate the correctness of data transformations.
  • Strong understanding of payment flows, settlement processes, and liquidity drivers.
  • You can rapidly experiment, validate hypotheses, and convert insights into structured requirements that guide IT delivery
  • Ability to translate business problems into clear requirements and structured designs.
  • Experience interacting with tech teams, architects, and operations.

  • Self‑starter, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of topics.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; fact‑based and precise.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions and asking the right questions.
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex data issues in clear terms.
  • Resilient, reliable, and able to work under time pressure.
  • A team player who collaborates openly and constructively.

And you have

  • Academic or master’s degree in finance, economics or related field.
