The Mission

As Product Lead – Data Plane, you shape and deliver ING’s global data platform capabilities. You guide the evolution from legacy data environments toward a modern, cloud‑based platform (VISTA on Google Cloud Platform) and ensure we provide scalable, secure, and user‑centric data services across the bank.

You will also serve as Chapter Lead for Product Owners and Customer Journey Experts (CJEs), leading both craft development and individual growth.

Your Day-to-Day

Product Leadership

  • Define and communicate the Data Plane product vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Partner with IT Area Leads, architects, and senior stakeholders to accelerate platform modernization.

  • Ensure predictable delivery across multiple squads and drive continuous improvement.

Transformation & Change Leadership

  • Lead large‑scale migration and modernization initiatives across hybrid (on‑prem, cloud) environments.

  • Drive both organizational and technical change, ensuring alignment across teams.

  • Proactively remove impediments, ensure clarity, and make decisive, data‑driven decisions.

User & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate structured workshops with internal user groups to gather insights and refine direction.

  • Engage senior stakeholders and executives, tailoring communication to influence outcomes.

  • Represent the Data Plane portfolio with clarity and confidence.

Chapter Lead Responsibilities

  • Develop craftsmanship for both POs and CJEs by setting clear standards and best practices.

  • Coach team members in backlog management, stakeholder management, and process‑to‑requirement translation.

  • Support individual development plans and challenge non‑productive behavior.

  • Build a culture of accountability, psychological safety, and high performance.

What you'll bring to the team

Education

  • Master’s degree.

Experience

  • 6+ years of relevant experience, including 3–6 years in leadership roles.

  • Proven success leading multi‑team delivery and complex transformation or migration programs.

  • Experience in product management, data platforms, and cloud ecosystems.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong communicator who adapts effectively to senior audiences.

  • Structured thinker with excellent problem‑solving abilities.

  • Skilled facilitator capable of engaging diverse user groups.

  • Deep understanding of customer journeys and agile product delivery.

  • Demonstrated coaching and people‑leadership experience.
