A day in the life of a Product Area Lead Savings & Life Events (GJA 20)

As a senior manager in Tribe Daily Banking & Client first, you will drive commercial, financial, delivery and risk management initiatives on daily banking products and services. More specifically, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a Product Area with 3 sub-domains and 9 squads, managing a wide range of products, services, end-to-end customer & employee journeys, and digital delivery capabilities. Scope of responsibilities include retail savings accounts, term deposits, rental guarantees, business banking and wholesale banking accounts, life events journeys such as successions, seizures, close accounts and release of rental guarantees.

  • Monitoring, steering, and further growing financial contribution from customer Deposits (i.e. savings, term deposits, current account balances) by closely collaborating with bank-wide stakeholders including pricing, finance, segments, balance sheet risk management.

  • Steering digital delivery commitments, managing dependencies and resolving impediments to ensure progress towards strategic milestones of the bank and the Tribe.

  • Ensuring alignment of stakeholders across segments, client services, technology, and branch networks for products, services & processes managed withing the area. The coordination takes place via formal touchpoints such as Obeya’s and QBR alignments, as well as informal and direct communication on a day-to-day basis.

  • As part of management team (MT) of Tribe Daily Banking & Client First, playing an active role in managing strategic initiatives on sales & income performance, delighting customers to improve our NPS, further digitalization of customer & employee journeys, and keeping financial & non-financial risks under control.

As a Product Area Lead, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Practice and develop leadership skills every day by taking part in strategic discussions & challenges as part of MT of Tribe and Extended Leadership Team of central delivery teams
  • Deepen knowledge and perspective in a wide range of areas: from product management to non-financial risk management, from digitalization to regulatory evolutions, or even markets rates development.  
  • Participate in senior-level discussions by attending business line MTs, Steerco’s and Exco-level meetings.
  • Equip yourself and your team with emerging capabilities around new product launches, campaign design & execution, digitalization, data & AI

  • Strategic vision to lead the Savings & Life Events area to ensure positive impact on delivering on Together For Progress (TfP) strategy which is centered around growth.
  • Ability to understand & structure internal/external complexities, and translate them into clear action plans & roadmaps for the team and stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of accounts and daily banking journeys from a business, risk, process and product point of view
  • Affinity with digital delivery to ensure having meaningful, collaborative yet challenging discussions with tech stakeholders
  • Solid team management, leadership and storytelling skills to define priorities and streamline objectives while keeping focus on growth of team members
  • Full professional command in English. Fluency in Dutch and/or French is a plus.

  • Savings, Life Events and BB/WB Accounts is an experienced and strong team within Tribe DBCF, comprised of ~40 colleagues (hierarchically), with a nice mix of experienced professionals and young talents.
