We are looking for a seasoned IT lead I for Data Engineering Platforms and Data Analytics in ING Hubs Romania, with a strategic and visionary mindset and a genuine interest in people. The IT Lead Data & Analytics Tech will directly report into Head of Hubs of ING Hubs Romania and functionally into CIO Data & Analytics.  

Mission

The IT lead for Data Engineering & Analytics coordinates a team of managers and experts in the domain, sets the standards for their expertise area and takes responsibility for developing, innovating and safeguarding knowledge in their field of expertise. Focuses on innovation and the improvement of IT in the strategic field to provide standardization and improvement of IT processes in deep connection to domain strategy and business partners set direction. Contributes to the strategy of the organization in the allocated area and is responsible for a web-scaled IT architecture within a high-performing culture and an agile organization. The role will have under its umbrella the Data Engineering Platforms and Data Analytics teams.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on development of the digital road map and key strategic enablers, designing the workflow and business processes that allow new applications, products, and services to be rolled out quickly while ensuring that legacy applications and IT operations are maintained at optimal levels.

  • Take responsibility for developing and delivering change management plans and achieving outcomes that support the organization's overall strategy and ensure there is a strong partnership with the global function.

  • Develop and propose annual business plans for their area, ensuring alignment with Data Engineering & Analytics business partners. Recommend financial and headcount budgets; propose business targets meant to support functional and local strategy fulfillment; schedule key activities/projects, ensuring integration with other elements of the organization.

  • Identify and communicate the actions needed to implement the function’s strategy and business plan; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and values; motivate people to commit to these and to doing extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

  • Create strong partnership with key business partners, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions.

  • Motivate and support the growth & development of talent in their area, using equitable approaches to performance management and development that may be differentiated to support each employee’s unique needs and preferences in order to bring out their best and meet business needs.

  • Be a leader of leaders, coach and mentor their first line of management and beyond, motivate and support the delivery through cohesive teams that work in sync even when they are cross-borders.

  • Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the department to identify gaps and prioritize development activities. Implement the organization's formal development frameworks within the area of responsibility.

  • Ensure that business activities within the area of responsibility comply with relevant external regulatory and/or voluntary codes and with internal policies and procedures to minimize business risk and to protect the reputation of the organization.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced leader, skilled in managing large-sized teams. who is knowledgeable in the data engineering area, data platforms and data analytics; with a Master/MBA degree or comparable academic education and highly skilled in operations strategy, innovation and governance deployed in a complex and international context.
