The Mission:

As a Senior Business Control Officer you facilitate risk identification, provide oversight of the health of control environment, and drive the execution of the risk management deliverables within the Analytics department in ING. This role is crucial in ensuring the identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess sound banking experience either in risk management, consultancy or technology area.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Identify, assess, and monitor operational risks, ensuring they are managed within the organization’s risk appetite.

  • Responsible in Implementing all applicable policies and frameworks that are applicable to ING.

  • Execute controls where the entity BCO executes all applicable controls to INGA and creates evidence of the said execution and obtain 2nd LoD and local NFRC approval where necessary.

  • Monitor control efficiency (KCM): Coordination of the Key Control Monitoring for the applicable controls. This may include planning, preparation, communication with involved parties, creation of reporting and sample selection criteria, overseeing the progress of the KCM, assisting with providing additional evidence and critically reviewing the results.

  • Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of entity Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and coordinates the follow up of the identified mitigating measures implementation

  • Organize and/ or participate in gap analysis/ adhoc risk assessment activities related to the implementation of new control standards and/ or new tooling and processes

  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure effective risk management practices are integrated into business processes.

  • Stakeholder management: Active engagement in different communication channels between all risk parties and the INGA management team.

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on risk-related matters to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Prepare and present BCO scope of work for NFRC meeting.

  • Lead BCO function related initiatives/projects within INGA.

  • Monitor and reports on the effectiveness of risk management practices, making recommendations for improvement as needed.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices in operational risk management.

  • Monitor status of generic risk issues and coordinate with Manila Issue management team on behalf of INGA and ensure implementing adequate controls in each tested area

  • Inform management and propose solutions to implement the set of directives within the framework and local policies on non-financial risk, as instructed by the ING Group and best practice in the field

  • Maintain the relationship with other functional lines and transforms the business entities’ requirements into operational activities, monitoring their implementation

  • Back-up for management of Key Controls, like: planning and implementation, key controls testing (KCT) execution and monitoring based on test plans

What you bring to the team

  • 5-7 years of experience in operational risk management and/or 1st line control execution function.

  • 3+ years' experience in risk management in banking sector, technology (cybersecurity, artificial intelligence)

  • Control oriented and analytical thinking/ judgement aimed on assessing specific risks

  • A real team player with excellent written and oral communication skills while interacting with many departments within the organization

  • English is mandatory

Wage (gross):3443 EUR / month

*By legal requirement we are providing the information about the basic wage component (minimum salary) for the advertised position. Based on your experience/profile, the final financial conditions will be the subject to discuss and negotiate at the personal interview, however, not less than above mentioned minimum salary component.
