  • Perform monitoring activities aligned to the Compliance Monitoring Plan to assess the design and effectiveness of controls.
  • Review and challenge first‑line control testing outcomes, undertake independent testing, and deliver thematic assurance reviews.
  • Provide input into the annual Compliance Plan to ensure key risks and regulatory themes are appropriately captured.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to present findings, agree on remediation actions, and track these through to resolution.
  • Support governance activities, including oversight of compliance events and issues, and contribute to reporting for senior management and governance committees.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of ING’s compliance framework, policies, and templates.
  • Participate in compliance training, awareness activities, and ad‑hoc projects across the Compliance team.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree qualified in accounting, commerce, law or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in compliance, risk management, audit, or assurance.

  • Experience with control testing, assurance reviews, and interpreting compliance obligations.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify issues, assess impacts and develop practical recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and influencing skills, including experience presenting to senior leaders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with OpenPages, TeamMate or similar tools is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and willingness to contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

What’s in it for you?

  • Discounted ING Health Insurance
  • An additional Rest Day to support your wellbeing
  • An IMPACT Day to volunteer on approved sustainability activity
