Join the Balance Sheet Risk team within the CRO domain of ING Belgium and help steer the bank’s balance sheet risks, with a strong focus on interest rate and liquidity risks.

In this role, you will help deliver robust risk metrics, drive change in processing, and strengthen data quality and controls. Your work will support sound decision-making, strong governance, and regulatory compliance.

Your key responsibilities

IRRBB (Interest Rate Risk in Banking Book) process management

  • Follow up on the monthly IRRBB run in QRM (ALM tool) and ensure timely, accurate delivery.
  • Review results, identify key variances, and assess plausibility.
  • Investigate issues and coordinate fixes across Risk, Finance, IT, and data teams.

Change implementation

  • Support changes to models, parameters, methodologies, and scenarios impacting IRRBB and liquidity risk.
  • Work with stakeholders across Risk, COO, Finance, and Data Management to deliver change smoothly.
  • Perform impact assessments and testing to validate implementation.

Data quality

  • Monitor data flows into QRM and ensure key inputs are complete and reliable.
  • Perform checks and reconciliations across source systems, QRM, and reporting.
  • Identify structural data issues and help implement sustainable fixes.
  • Implement BCBS239 regulation (data lineage, documentation, and controls).

Governance and controls

  • Maintain clear documentation of processes, controls, assumptions, and limitations.
  • Support audits, model reviews, and regulatory requests with clear evidence and analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, frameworks, and regulatory expectations.

What you bring

  • A master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or another quantitative field.
  • Experience in financial risk, balance sheet risk, ALM, or risk reporting in banking.
  • Experience with QRM or a similar risk or ALM tool is a strong plus.
  • A solid understanding of interest rate risk, liquidity risk, and behavioral modelling.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • The ability to interpret and challenge model outputs and data.
  • Experience with Excel, SQL, or other data analysis tools; coding is a plus.
  • A structured way of working and a strong control mindset.
  • The confidence to work independently and connect easily with stakeholders.
  • Clear communication skills and comfort in a complex risk environment.
