MBO Internship – Azure DevOps Dashboarding & Intelligent Alerting

ING Bank Nederland is looking for an enthusiastic MBO intern with an interest in IT, data, dashboards and automation.

The Continuous Integration & Delivery (CI/CD) Area within Tribe DevEx & System Engineering is responsible for the platforms used by thousands of ING engineers to build, test and deliver software every day.

Our core platform, OnePipeline, is built on Azure DevOps and supports 15.000 developers across ING. To keep our platform reliable and efficient, we continuously monitor performance, capacity and service health through our SingleView dashboards and automated alerting solutions. Existing dashboards provide insights into Azure DevOps agent performance, availability and platform health.

During this internship, you will help improve how we measure platform performance and how operational issues are detected and escalated through our alerting landscape, including integrations with the ING Alert Transporter (IAT).

Your Internship Assignment

As an MBO intern, you will work together with engineers, product managers and reliability specialists to improve our monitoring and alerting capabilities.

Your key activities

  • Analyse existing SingleView and Grafana dashboards and identify opportunities for improvement in usability and insights.
  • Design and implement new dashboard visualisations for Azure DevOps performance metrics.
  • Improve reporting on build capacity, agent utilisation, queue performance and platform reliability.
  • Investigate current alert flows and propose improvements to alert quality and relevance.
  • Help optimise how alerts are triggered and routed towards the ING Alert Transporter (IAT).
  • Build simple automations and validations that reduce noise and improve operational visibility.
  • Gather feedback from platform engineers and translate it into dashboard improvements.
  • Document your work and demonstrate improvements to stakeholders.

Who are you?

Education

  • You are currently following an MBO Level 4 education in:
    • Software Development
    • Expert IT Systems & Devices
    • IT & Infrastructure
    • Business IT & Management
    • Data & ICT
    • or a related study

Skills and Competences

Technical Affinity

  • Comfortable working with computers and technology.
  • Interest in dashboards, monitoring or data analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of IT systems, networking or software development.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Grafana, Azure DevOps or similar tools is a plus.

Personal Skills

  • Curious and eager to learn.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented.
  • Proactive and able to work independently.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Comfortable asking questions and exploring new technologies.
